This page explains what cookies this website uses. Cookies are small files a website can store on your device. UK law, specifically the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations alongside UK data protection law, says we may only set non-essential ones if you have agreed.
What does this site store without asking?
Only what is strictly necessary to make the site work. These do not need your consent, because without them the site cannot do the thing you asked it to do.

What only gets stored if you agree?
Two things, and they are separate choices. You can say yes to one, both or neither, and this website works exactly the same either way. We do not sell your data.

Those two lifetimes are Google's own published figures, read from Google's own cookie page on 27 August 2026. Google keeps that page, and it is the place to get the full and current detail on every one of them.
Saying no to advertising hides nothing on our site and changes nothing you can read here.
We use Google Consent Mode, which means both start out switched off rather than switched on. If you press Reject all, or simply ignore the banner, the Google script is never even requested, so nothing is stored on your device.
How do I change my mind?
You can change your choice at any time, and it is exactly as easy as making it in the first place:
