House clearance in Suffolk

We are a Sudbury firm, so Suffolk is the county we are actually from. Here is what that means for a clearance, what happens to everything we take out, and which towns and villages we are in most weeks.

Do you cover house clearance across Suffolk?

Yes, and it is our home county rather than a place we travel to. We are based in Sudbury. Bury St Edmunds and Ipswich are ordinary weeks, Haverhill and Newmarket are normal runs, and a good deal of the work is in the villages rather than the towns. We come and look at the property, then give you a figure in writing, and there is no charge for that.

What is a private house clearance?

One we do for a person rather than for a company, a landlord or an agent. You decide what stays and what goes, you do not have to sort anything first, and nothing leaves the property until you have said so. Most of what we do in Suffolk is exactly this: a family moving, somebody downsizing, or a house being emptied after forty years in it.

It also means it is discreet. We turn up in a plain van, we do not put a board up outside, and what is in somebody's house is their business and stays that way.

Does anything from a Suffolk house clearance go to charity?

A lot of it does. Clothes, furniture, books, kitchen things and anything else with life left in it goes to charity rather than to landfill, and you do not need to sort it, bag it or take it anywhere first. That is part of the job rather than something extra to ask for.

It is also the reason a clearance can cost less than people expect. The tip charges by weight, so everything that finds a second home is weight that never goes over a weighbridge.

Can a house clearance in Suffolk ever be free?

Sometimes, and it is worth asking rather than assuming. Where there is enough in the property that we can resell, the value of it can cover the cost of the work. It is not a promise and it depends entirely on what is in the house. There is a page on what a house clearance costs that goes through the three things that actually decide the number.

Where does the waste go after a Suffolk clearance?

Anything usable comes out of the load first. What is left goes to a licensed site, and you get a waste transfer note for your own job.

That last part matters more than it sounds. If you pay somebody to take household waste away, the law asks you to make sure they are authorised to take it. We are Environment Agency waste carrier, Upper Tier CBDU634717, and here is our entry on the Environment Agency register so you can check it yourself.

It is also why you cannot simply run a clearance to the tip yourself. Suffolk County Council says plainly that charges apply to any waste that is the result of business or trade activity, and once a firm has done the work that is what it becomes.

Which towns do you cover for house clearance in Suffolk?

These have pages of their own, with what is actually different about working in each one.

We cover these as ordinary jobs too, along with the villages between them.

Newmarket, Long Melford, Great Cornard

The full list of towns and villages covers both counties, and there is a page for house clearance across Essex as well.

How quickly can you quote for a house clearance in Suffolk?

Send photographs and we can usually price it straight away. Otherwise we will come back to you the same day, and within 24 hours at the latest. There is nothing to pay for a quote, nothing to sign, and we are not VAT registered, so the figure we give you is the figure you pay.

Get a price for your Suffolk house clearance

Tell us where the property is and roughly what is in it. Send photographs if you have them and we can usually price it straight away.

Easier to show us? Send your images this way on WhatsApp to 07415 300632. Photographs of the rooms often save us a visit, and you get a price sooner.

We take on part and full house clearances. A single room, a loft, a garage, or the whole property.

We do not collect single items. One bed, one sofa or one fridge freezer is a job for a man with a van, and they will do it cheaper than we could.

Whichever is easier for you, phone or email.

So we know how far it is.

The room, the garage or the loft, however it looks. A picture usually means we can quote you straight away, without coming out first. Up to 4MB.

We only use your details to answer your enquiry. See our privacy policy.

Rather ring us about a house clearance in Suffolk?

We answer the phone ourselves. Tell us the postcode and what is in the property and we will tell you honestly whether it is a job for us.
