Privacy policy
Last reviewed: 26 August 2026
This policy explains what personal information Suffolk and Essex House Clearance ("we", "us") collects when you use this website or ask us to do work for you, what we do with it, and what rights you have. We handle it in line with UK data protection law, which is the UK GDPR together with the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who we are
Suffolk and Essex House Clearance is the data controller for the information described here. That means we decide what is collected and why, and we are accountable for looking after it.
- Based in Sudbury, Suffolk
- Email: suffolkandessexhouseclearance@gmail.com

What we collect
Only what we need to answer you and do the work:
- Your contact details. Your name, and whichever of a phone number or email address you choose to give us.
- Where the work is. Your postcode, and your address once you book work in.
- What you told us. The description of the job, and anything else you send us by message, email or phone.
- Job records. What we did, when, what it cost, and photographs of the work where those are part of the job or the certificate.
- Technical information. Basic data your browser sends, and, only if you agree to it, analytics cookies. See our cookie policy.
We do not ask for special category data, we do not knowingly collect information about children, and we never sell your information to anyone.
Why we are allowed to use it
- To do the work you asked for. Quoting, booking, turning up, invoicing. Lawful basis: performance of a contract.
- To answer your enquiry. Lawful basis: legitimate interests, namely replying to someone who contacted us.
- To keep proper records. Accounts, tax, and any certificates our trade requires us to retain. Lawful basis: legal obligation.
- Analytics. Lawful basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- Marketing. Only if you have asked for it, and you can stop it at any time.
Who else sees it
We use a small number of service providers to run the business. They only process your information on our instructions, and they are:
- Netlify, for website hosting and form delivery.
- Supabase, for database and login accounts.
- Resend, for sending enquiry emails (only if this site has that feature switched on).
- Google Analytics, for website analytics, only with your consent (only if this site has that feature switched on).
- Stripe, for card payments, if the site takes them (only if this site has that feature switched on).
- The agency that built and maintains this website, which holds the hosting and database accounts on our behalf under a written agreement.
- Our accountant, and any authority we are legally required to tell.
Some of these providers may process information outside the UK. Where that happens, the transfer is covered by the safeguards UK law requires, such as adequacy regulations or an International Data Transfer Agreement.
How long we keep it
Only as long as we need it. Enquiries that never became work are deleted once they are clearly going nowhere. Records of work done, and anything with a financial or safety certificate attached, are kept for as long as tax law and our trade's rules require, which is typically six years.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to how we are using it, ask us to restrict it, ask for it to be transferred, and withdraw any consent you gave. Just ask, at suffolkandessexhouseclearance@gmail.com. It costs nothing and we will respond within the time the law allows.
If you are unhappy
Please tell us first, because most things are a misunderstanding we can fix quickly. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If we change how we handle your information we will update this page, and the review date at the top will change with it.
